Get Down to Business with Working Artists & RACC

Just received this alert from Her Awesomeness Adrienne Fritze over at Working Artists on two workshops coming up this weekend, and one on December 6th.  Adrienne’s workshops are designed for artists and creative pros and chock full of practical right-brain business goodness, and – speaking from personal experience – will totally blow your mind (but in a really good way).  Well worth the investment of your time and money (last-minute registration is available through the 14th).

WANTED: artists, creative-types and solopreneurs to participate in a series of workshops designed to empower them in clarifying, defining and promoting their products and services.

The Vision workshop is for ANYONE seeking clarity about their Vision and Mission in life and their work – self employed or employed by others [it’s a great workshop for people in career transitions]. As many folks have already learned, it’s a powerful workshop that provides a basis for defining the course your work and life will take according to your own passions, values, standards and principles.

The Project Development/Management workshop is equally as powerful, and is best suited to people who are clear on their Vision and Mission and are ready to hit the ground running with a project intended to sell their work or services (not just showcase them). Early in the day of this workshop we’ll quickly define the products and services your business offers, and will come up with a basic pricing scheme. From that point we’ll then establish a first project designed to promote and sell your work.

And the Marketing/Sales Strategy and Planning workshop is critical for anyone wanting to make it in this tight economy – it’s a planning workshop which will give people the road map they need to continually succeed over time.

The Regional Arts & Culture Council also recently announced their 2009 professional development workshops. Sessions will include public art submission how to, marketing, legal concerns for artists, grant writing and new media formatting, plus a special panel discussion with local gallery representatives and curators discussing building your resume and perfecting your portfolio. Registration begins November 17, 2008. Sign up early. Workshops tend to fill up fast.
