On Not Using the Knife

So I received this beautiful, high-quality – as in: much nicer than anything else I own – chef’s knife as a Christmas gift.

That was over two weeks ago and it remains in its packaging on my kitchen counter. Like I’m waiting for a special occasion to use it or something.  Like a worthy meal has yet to present itself.

Like I’m not worthy.

Makes me wonder what else I’m waiting to use. Opportunities that are right in front of me. Available. Ready to be enjoyed.
